Despite mild flu season, don't skip shots, experts say
Tue Jan 24, 2012
I almost died from the flu in February 2002. I had a fever of 105F, vomiting, diarrhea, convulsions, you name it. I had my spleen removed in 1988 due to a car accident and was ordered by my doctor to get a flu shot every year.
BMW 3-series combats challengers

I have a 2007 BMW 335 Sport. It's an absolutely incredible car, and once you've had one, it's pretty much impossible to go back to a Toyota. Yes, it is more expensive to maintain and repair than a Toyota (or pretty much everything else), and the car has not been flawless, but it's still worth it.

No snow? Big problem for US ski resorts
Thu Dec 29, 2011
This is crazy. I live in Santa Fe, NM, and we've had snow non-stop in December. Last year there was NO snow at this time -- the ski resorts weren't even open. I skied on Christmas Day in some of the most amazing powder I can ever remember.

Why would any buyer want to take on a $210,000 mortgage for a property valued at $200,000? Also, mortgage rates today are likely lower than the original mortgage was. No bank is going to transfer a mortgage over with >100% loan-to-value ratio.
Fierce winds and snow snarl Great Plains travel

Believer, that picture is on I-25 coming into Santa Fe, not I-40, and most of those people are likely commuters coming into work for the day. I know, because I live in Santa Fe.

So, C. Moakler, what would you have the government do? And like a new congress would do anything different!
Ailing Honda hoping for a comeback
Wed Dec 14, 2011
Everybody here babbles on about how long their Hondas last. Here's a news alert: pretty much ALL cars nowadays are very reliable and trouble-free for many years. Toyota and Honda USED to be much better than the rest, but now everybody else has caught up with them.
We are the median: Mom and son scrimp and plan to get by

I've had moderate pay increases, but not beating inflation.
Regulators probing gear shift trouble with GM cars
Mon Nov 14, 2011
Dave, last time I checked, anything mechanical can and will fail at some point. Even a Toyota. That is why there are redundant systems on everything, and that is why the parking brake should be used: for exactly what happened here: when "Park" fails to keep the car parked.
